About Me

A former aspiring writer now perspiring to write withn the ultimate goal of eventually writing full-time. I have blogged fairly continuously since January 20027 at Sober Catholic. I have done some freelance writing through some ‘content mills’ and hope to establish a more regular and financially rewarding writing career. My expertise is primarily on the Catholic faith and addiction recovery, but I am also knowedgeable on history and politics, pop culture fandoms and with enough time behind a search engine, anything else! I am finally turning my attention to expanding my efforts with self-published booklets and eventually longer works of fiction. My booklets are for Catholics and other Christians who are affected by alcoholism and addictions. I am also planning on novels and shorter works in the speculative fiction genre. At the moment I am working through self-publishing while later perhaps through traditional “brick-and-mortar” houses.

I am also a sober alcoholic and revert to the Catholic Church who found continued sobriety and serenity in the Catholic Faith, now engaging the Web to “Seek first the Kingdom of God” through “new media” applications.

I hope to maintain the online recovery work but also develop my fiction by exploring the shadowy boundaries between life and death; what exactly exists in that stage between awake and asleep? What does humanity (or alienity) mean? And I am convinced that some things do lurk out of the corner of your eye, unseen by anyone else.

So, I suppose that Catholicism, addiction recovery, reading, writing, death and the fuzzy gray areas along the borders of life are interests. Oh, I also like cats and Mac computers.

I am married (w00t!! w00t!!) to the lovely and talented Rose Santuci-Sofranko (who took the picture of me featured below), who is an “Artist4God”. Please visit her Zazzle.com Store and her Fine Art America site.
